Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Urology Physician Assistant to provide clinical and surgical care for patients on the Urology service, including clinic, cystoscopy suite, and operating room. The PA will work under designated collaborating physicians with full autonomy in appropriate settings.

Responsibilities include obtaining histories, performing exams, formulating care plans, ordering diagnostic tests, and delivering patient education and follow-up care within the VA system.

Qualifications

• Obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations
• Providing and coordinating medical care for assigned patients
• Ordering diagnostic studies and other tests
• Patient education and counseling

Responsibilities

• Establish diagnoses and formulate care plans
• Perform and interpret pre-operative assessments
• Order and coordinate pre-procedure antibiotics and tests
• Assist in cystoscopy, GU procedures, and postoperative care
