Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Nurse Clinician for the Lake Forest Hospital campus to support the Urology clinic. The role is full-time, salaried, with a standard 8:00am–5:00pm schedule and potential travel to Grayslake or Glenview locations as needed.

The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary team, perform patient assessments, provide education, and ensure documentation is complete and compliant with policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments via nursing process and document in the medical record.
• Administer medications, draw blood, measure vital signs, prepare specimens and manage routine nursing duties.
• Perform complex procedures such as conscious sedation, chemotherapy administration, and wound care per protocol.
• Triage and prioritize incoming calls using clinical assessment skills and document assessments.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and communicate with outside facilities as needed.
• Coordinate patient education and provide teaching to staff and patients, including community outreach when requested.
