Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a 40-hour work week in the GCMG Urology clinic. The role involves rooming patients, vitals, history taking, and assisting with procedures in a busy specialty setting.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, CLIA-waived tests, medication administration, and care coordination tasks such as scheduling and referrals. AHA BLS may be required; strong teamwork and patient communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or related structured clinical training.
• May consider DD214 clinical training in lieu of formal MA program.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per safety rules.
• Performs other duties: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross trained for related duties within department.
• Communicates effectively and escalates as needed.
• Maintains clean workplace and stocked supplies.
