Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support busy clinics. You will perform patient rooming, vitals, history taking, and basic health screenings, under physician direction.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, basic lab tasks, and immunizations when ordered. Expect collaboration with providers, attention to safety, and strict adherence to clinic policies and patient care standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of a formal MA program or EMT.
• Current BLS certification may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, medication reconciliation, history, health maintenance, allergies, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling, POCT per orders; adheres to CLIA.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and charting as needed.
