Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System is hiring a day shift, full-time Urology Medical Assistant (MA) in Owasso, OK. The MA provides patient care and clinical support in a clinic setting under the physician or APP, while handling administrative duties and EMR documentation.

Responsibilities include patient greeting, vital signs, instrument sterilization, inventory management, and coordination of referrals and authorizations. A high school diploma and BLS are required, with CMA/RMA preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an EMR.
• Patient visit support that may include: Greeting patients, escorting patient to exam room and taking vital signs.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments. Ensures exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.
• Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
• Addresses referrals and insurance authorizations and passes along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to necessary parties. This includes calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.
