Job summary

Mount Nittany Health in State College, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced clinic.

You will prepare patients, administer medications, assist during procedures, and manage tests like EKGs and glucose. An accredited MA program graduate with BLS is required; one year of office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• One year of medical office and patient care experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification or Registered Medical Assistant certification required upon hire/transfer.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including taking histories, vital signs, and measurements.
• Assist provider with tests and procedures.
• Administer injections and medications as prescribed, document in patient files.
• Perform EKGs, audiometry, glucose testing, and Holter monitoring.
• Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment; maintain supplies.
• Answer calls, schedule referrals and appointments, and record messages.
• Support front desk tasks and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as required.
