Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Urology team in Bloomfield, NJ. This full-time role supports providers, performs clinical tasks, and helps ensure a smooth patient experience in a fast-paced environment.

A typical day includes obtaining vital signs, assisting during examinations, processing specimens, documenting in Epic, coordinating patient flow, and offering patient education. Must have CMA credential and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CMA credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA)
• Minimum of 6 months CMA experience required
• Experience with EMR systems, Epic preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and histories
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
• Administer injections, collect specimens, and perform point-of-care testing
• Accurately document patient information and test results in EMR
• Coordinate patient flow and maintain exam rooms and supplies
• Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care
