Job summary

Academic Urology is seeking a Research Assistant to support its growing clinical research program. The RA will assist with subject recruitment, data collection, lab processing and communication with patients, sponsors, and investigators.

The role offers exposure to GCP/IRB guidelines, EDC/IVRS systems, and collaboration with study teams. Prior medical/ research experience helps, with flexibility and strong communication essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to gain thorough knowledge and follow clinical study protocols.
• Develop an understanding of Good Clinical Practices and FDA/IRB rules.
• More than 1 year of experience as a medical assistant or research assistant.
• Urology-based clinical experience preferred.
• Proficiency with software including Office, EMR, EDC and IVRS systems
• Effective time management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication with management, staff and physicians in multiple modes.
• Flexibility to adapt to daily clinic workflow.

Responsibilities

• Review and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Read protocol and informed consent requirements for each study.
• Work with coordinators to complete protocol-specific procedures and documentation.
• Assist in clinic duties: explain purpose/risks, screen candidates, obtain consent, ensure protocol compliance.
• Provide instructions to ensure protocol adherence and distribute study medications per protocol.
• Maintain lab procedures and process specimens per manuals and regulations.
• Capture data in source documents and electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
• Perform readings and measurements (vital signs, ECG, urinalysis, etc.).
• Communicate with IRB, sponsors, investigators, and staff as needed.
• Support site visits and assist with close-out procedures.
