Job summary

USC Care Medical Group in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Registered Nurse for an RN Clinical position in an Urology Clinic. This full-time, 8-hour day, non-exempt role supports the interdisciplinary team by delivering nursing care using the nursing process.

Responsibilities include performing assessments, nursing diagnoses, care planning, administering medications, documenting encounters, and educating patients and families. Requires BSN, CA RN license, BLS, and cardiology/ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required; grandfathered from BSN if hired before 12/2019.
• 2 years ambulatory care experience.
• 1 year coronary or surgical ICU experience (preferred for CVTI).
• 1 year non-invasive cardiology experience (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and ability to follow policies and perform duties.
• Licensed RN in California (RN).
• BLS healthcare provider certification.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if required within 30 days.
• ONS chemotherapy and biotherapy certification (if available).

Responsibilities

• Assesses nursing assessment and screening during patient encounters in clinic or by phone.
• Interprets assessment data and formulates nursing diagnoses.
• Maintains problem, medication, and allergy lists.
• Administers medications and completes re-assessments as needed.
• Documents encounters accurately and completely.
• Educates patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and procedures.
• Maintains equipment and safety, and monitors alarms.
• Communicates with the healthcare team using SBAR and other tools.
• Manages time, priorities, and workflow effectively.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
