Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for our busy outpatient Urology service in Falls Church, VA. This full-time position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with 8-hour shifts and opportunities for first-assist in the OR as needed.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited NP or PA program, board certified (ACNP or NCCPA), with BLS and DEA credentials, and has prior or clinical experience in urology.

Responsibilities

• Daily writing of progress notes
• Assessment and verbal presentation of ER and inpatient consults
• Writing of consult notes for attending review
• Performing or assisting with bedside procedures (e.g., complex catheter placements, suprapubic catheter exchanges, irrigation)
• Placing orders for admissions and discharges
• Ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies
• Fielding phone calls from bedside nurses
• Multidisciplinary care coordination and patient education
• Opportunity for first-assisting in the OR as service needs permit

Inova is looking for a dedicated, full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) needed for busy outpatient Urology service. Schedule is full time, Monday-Friday.

Urology Advanced Practice Provider Job Responsibilities:

• Daily writing of progress notes
• Assessment and verbal presentation of ER and inpatient consults
• Writing of consult notes for attending review
• Performingor assisting with bedside procedures (for example: complex catheter placements (including intraoperatively for other surgical subspecialties), complex catheter removal, suprapubic catheter exchanges, urinary catheter irrigation for clot retention, irrigation of priapism, incision and drainage of scrotal abscesses, and others)
• Placing orders for admissions and discharges
• Ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies
• Fielding phone calls from beside nurses
• Multidisciplinary care coordination and patient education.
• Some opportunity exists for first-assisting in the OR, as service needs permit or require.

Additional Requirements:

• Work schedule:8 hour shifts: Monday thru Friday
• Education:Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Experience: Prefer a provider with prior urology experience (inpatient or outpatient), or with a minimum of 2 years of any clinical experience.
• Board certified (ACNP or NCCPA certification)
• BLS
• DEA
