Job summary

JusticePoint is seeking an Urinalysis (UA) Technician to coordinate and observe urine toxicology testing for program participants. The role requires strict adherence to protocols, confidentiality, and accuracy, with data shared to the case management team.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, ensuring privacy, managing workflow, quality control, and EMR-based scheduling. A pre-employment background check and at least one year in a medical setting are preferred.

As a member of the JusticePoint team, the Urinalysis (UA) Technician coordinates, facilitates, and observes urine toxicology testing for program participants. This role requires strict adherence to testing protocols, professionalism, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and accuracy. The UA Technician supports program operations by maintaining quality control standards and communicating results to the case management team.

Responsibilities

• Perform urine toxicology specimen collection in accordance with program procedures, including observed urine drug and alcohol screens for male clients (collector must be the same gender as the client providing the sample).
• Provide high level of professional service and respect for patients’ privacy.
• Organize workflow to ensure efficient and accurate testing.
• Ensure compliance with quality control and quality improvement protocols.
• Order and maintain stock of UA testing materials.
• Complete data entry requirements as needed.
• Schedule patient UAs using data from EMR.
• Assure patient confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR and HIPAA.
• Collaborate with supervisor and team members to address quality of service issues.
• Maintain and update technical knowledge and skills.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Competencies
