Job summary

Human Touch Home Health is seeking Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) to serve Silver Spring, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Takoma Park, Cabin John and surrounding Montgomery County communities. We offer full-time, part-time, and PRN positions with immediate patient opportunities.

Build a manageable caseload and choose your preferred coverage area, with mileage reimbursement and one-on-one patient care. Medical, dental & vision insurance for eligible full-time employees, PTO and holidays, and Aflac

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapy Assistant license required.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Strong patient-care and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in patients' homes.
• Immediate or near-immediate availability strongly preferred.
• Home health experience is preferred but not required.
• WellSky experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments according to the plan of care.
• Help patients improve independence with activities of daily living.
• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal prep, and other activities.
• Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and function.
• Reinforce safe transfers and mobility techniques.
• Help patients learn to safely use adaptive equipment.
• Reinforce home safety and fall-prevention strategies.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers.
• Monitor progress and response to treatment.
• Communicate changes or concerns to the supervising OT.
• Complete accurate documentation using WellSky.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.

What You'll Do

Working under the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Provide occupational therapy treatments according to the established plan of care

• Help patients improve independence with activities of daily living

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and other functional activities

• Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and functional ability

• Reinforce techniques for safe transfers and mobility

• Help patients learn to safely use adaptive equipment

• Reinforce home safety and fall-prevention strategies

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers

• Monitor patient progress and response to treatment

• Communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist

• Complete accurate and timely documentation using WellSky

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team

What We're Looking For

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapy Assistant License Required
