Job summary

Pieper Veterinary Berlin Street is hiring an Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced setting. You will help with patient care, treatments, diagnostics, procedures, monitoring, and client communication while delivering an exceptional experience for pets and families.

This full-time position requires at least 2 years of veterinary assistant experience and urgent care exposure. Weekend rotation and availability are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience.
• Urgent Care/Emergency experience required.
• Experience restraining and handling animals.
• Experience assisting with treatments and procedures.
• Strong veterinary terminology knowledge.
• Able to multitask in fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Rotating weekend availability.
• Must be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain patients and support handling needs.
• Obtain patient histories and assist with assessments.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after treatments and procedures.
• Support recovering and hospitalized patients as directed.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and sample collection.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Restock supplies and maintain treatment readiness.
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members.
• Help ensure efficient patient flow throughout the Urgent Care service.
