Pieper Veterinary Berlin Street in West Hartford is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant to join a fast-paced team. You will assist veterinarians and technicians, restrain patients, obtain histories, monitor during procedures, and help care for recovering animals.

This full-time position requires experience in urgent care, strong communication, and the ability to work rotating weekends. Competitive benefits and a collaborative environment are offered.

Formación

• Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience required.
• Prior Urgent Care or Emergency Veterinary experience is a must.
• Experience safely and compassionately handling and restraining animals.
• Experience supporting veterinarians and technicians with treatments and procedures.
• Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology.

Responsabilidades

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Safely restrain patients and support patient handling needs
• Obtain patient histories and assist with patient assessments
• Monitor patients before, during, and after treatments and procedures
• Support recovering and hospitalized patients as directed
• Assist with diagnostic testing and sample collection
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Restock supplies and maintain treatment readiness
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members
• Help ensure efficient patient flow throughout the Urgent Care service
