Urgent Care Veterinarian:

The primary role of theUrgent Care Veterinarianis to efficiently provide high quality out-patient care to patients with minor injuries and ailments.Responsibilities include all aspects of urgent care thatdonot require hospitalization,with an emphasis on thorough andtimelycommunication with clients and referral veterinarians.Cases requiring more advanced care will bestabilized forclienttransferto MedVet Akron, Cleveland West or Pittsburgh, depending on where the client is located, forspecialtyreferral and24-hourcare.This is a unique opportunity for a small-animal general practice,emergency, orinternship trainedveterinarian to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the benefit of set shift schedules.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Assistwith thein-person and phone triage process.
• Supervisepatient intakeandevaluation.
• Provideprompt examination, diagnostic recommendations, and treatment to incoming patients.
• Divert or stabilize forclienttransfer to a local MedVet Specialty/24-hourER hospital.
• No hospitalized patients, strictlyurgent care and daytime ER.
• Communicate with clients and referral partners regarding patient status, diagnostic and treatment plans, estimate updates, and follow-up care
• Engage in training of clinical service team members.
• Utilize existing templates whenever possible to efficiently complete discharges, medical records, and referral reports.
• This is a unique opportunity for a new grad or experienced veterinarian to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the benefit of set shift schedules.
