American Veterinary Group is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian for our UrgentVet Hospitals in Hoover, Alabama. This full-time role focuses on after-hours care for canine and feline patients with state-of-the-art in-house labs and digital imaging.

The position requires a DVM/VMD from an AVMA-accredited college and an active license in good standing in Alabama. The role emphasizes clinical leadership, client communication, and a team-based care model.

Description

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the Hoover, Alabama area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Veterinarian’s role in the hospital is a position of leadership, trust, and respect and shall conduct themselves accordingly

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state)
