Urgent Care Registered Nurse

Location: Washington, DCJob Type: W2 Contract (Temporary)Openings: 1Hours: ~35 hours/week (shifts typically 7–10 hours during clinic operating hours; schedules are built in 6-week blocks after training; includes some major holidays)

Position Summary

We’re seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care in an in-person, patient-facing setting. In this role, you’ll assess patients, administer treatments/medications/vaccines, document thoroughly in the EMR, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to support strong patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and provide direct clinical care
• Administer oral/injectable/IV/topical medications as applicable
• Perform routine assessments and vital signs; identify and document abnormalities
• Provide vaccinations, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as needed
• Document patient history, care, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Conduct medication reviews and identify potential side effects/interactions
• Support patient education (self-care, disease management) and connect patients to resources
• Maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked clinical environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

Required Qualifications

• RN license in the state of work (must be in good standing; no current or prior disciplinary actions)
• BLS certification (must remain valid at least 30 days beyond the assignment start date)
• Primary Care, Urgent Care, or ER experience (required)
• Note: Candidates with experience limited to long-term care settings (nursing homes, home health, LTAC, SNF) should not be submitted for this role.
• Experience with phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing
• 1+ year related healthcare experience
• EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
• High School Diploma/GED required
• B.S. in Nursing required
