Job summary

NextCare in Alice, TX is seeking a full-time clinician for our urgent care team. This role offers clinical autonomy, a fast-paced environment, and strong support from experienced teams. You will treat patients of all ages, handle a variety of acute conditions, and work 12-hour days with some weekend coverage.

Compensation is $60–$80/hour plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. The schedule aims for more days off than workdays, with annual goals aligned to NextCare

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility: PA NCCPA or NP ANCC/AANP.
• Active DEA license.
• Ability to treat patients of all ages.
• Active BLS certification.
• EHR proficiency.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable).
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.

Status: Full-Time
Schedule: 12-hour shifts Mon - Sat with shorter 8-hour shifts on Sun; clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Mon - Sat and 8:00 AM - 4:00PM Sun, every other weekend and occasional holidays are required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast‑track experience
• Strong procedural skills (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care)
• Experience with initial x‑ray interpretation prior to radiology over‑read
