Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in San Marcos, TX seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. The role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting, treating acute illnesses and minor injuries.

The ideal candidate has urgent care experience, Texas PA license, NCCPA certification, and strong clinical decision-making. You will perform exams, order tests, prescribe medications, and document in the EMR, collaborating with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Physician Assistant.
• National NCCPA certification.
• Urgent care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
• Perform patient assessments, physical exams, and medical procedures as appropriate
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
• Perform common urgent care procedures including wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and other minor procedures
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff to ensure high-quality patient care
