Job summary

SEMPA in San Marcos, TX is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. The role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment, treating a wide range of acute illnesses and minor injuries.

The ideal candidate will have a Texas PA license and NCCPA certification, with urgent care experience and strong clinical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Physician Assistant.
• National certification (NCCPA).
• Urgent care experience required.
• Strong clinical decision-making and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
• Perform patient assessments, physical exams, and medical procedures as appropriate
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
• Perform common urgent care procedures including wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and other minor procedures
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff to ensure high-quality patient care

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team in San Marcos, TX. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment, treating a wide range of acute illnesses and minor injuries.

The ideal candidate will have previous urgent care experience and be comfortable evaluating and managing patients of all ages with varying levels of acuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries

• Perform patient assessments, physical exams, and medical procedures as appropriate

• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies

• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans

• Perform common urgent care procedures including wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and other minor procedures

• Provide patient education and discharge instructions

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

Schedule & Compensation

• 3.5 shifts per week

• Rotating weekend coverage
