University of Maryland Medical System Urgent Care is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead clinical care in the Baltimore region. You will work in Rotunda, Belvedere Square and Dundalk locations, delivering high-quality urgent care and coordinating with a dedicated team of medical staff.

Ideal candidates hold Maryland licensure (or are pending) with NPI, DEA, and CDS in process.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be licensed Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants in good standing with Maryland, or licensure pending approval.
• Active NPI number, DEA registration, and CDS license required, or in the process of obtaining them.
• Prior clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, ICU, or primary care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver urgent care in a fast-paced environment across multiple Baltimore locations.
• Serve as a clinical leader in UM Urgent Care centers and work collaboratively with medical assistants and radiologic technologists.
• Work 12-hour shifts (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.), typically 3–4 shifts per week, totaling ~12–14 shifts per month.

Job Requirements

This full-time position covers the Baltimore region of Maryland, with equal coverage across our Rotunda, Belvedere Square and Dundalk locations.

UM Urgent Care providers serve as clinical leaders in our centers—delivering exceptional medical care, fostering outstanding patient experiences, and working collaboratively in a close-knit team environment with medical assistants and radiologic technologists. We care for patients ages one and older, treating a wide range of conditions including upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, lacerations requiring sutures, employee health physicals, work-related injuries, and preoperative evaluations.

Providers work 12-hour clinical shifts (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.), typically 3 to 4 shifts per week, totaling approximately 12–14 shifts per month. Urgent care is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that offers a broad spectrum of patient presentations, ranging from acute illness to minor injuries.

Work Experience

Candidates must be licensed Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants in good standing with the state of Maryland, or have licensure pending approval. An active NPI number, DEA registration, and CDS license are required, or the candidate must be in the process of obtaining them.

While not required, prior clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, intensive care, or primary care settings—whether as a provider, nurse, or technician—is preferred.
