Job summary

Ascension Urgent Care Clinics are seeking a Nurse Practitioner for full-time, outpatient care across multiple Jacksonville-area locations. The role focuses on patient history, assessment, diagnostic procedures, treatment, and patient education, with a strong emphasis on preventative care and immunizations.

You will work within Ascension Medical Group, with opportunities for CME allowance and dedicated CME days, and DOT certification is required for certain position tracks.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialing from Florida Board of Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessments.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Counsel and educate patients and families on preventative health and treatment options.
• Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations and care.

This job location is not currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.

• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.

• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.

• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
