Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an urgent care-focused Nurse Practitioner to join our DFW Urgent Care Team. You will assess patients across life spans, order diagnostics, and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient counseling, and efficient care delivery within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Texas RN license or compact privilege.
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas.
• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Certification from an accredited board as an APRN for the patient population focus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and mental conditions with comprehensive or focused exams and histories.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate lab tests and other diagnostics as needed.
• Prescribe and manage medications and therapies per policies, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Develop and implement outcomes-based treatment plans with physicians and team as needed.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiate referrals when appropriate.
• Provide consultation-level services for conditions related to the provider's specialty and training.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice and experience as delegated by supervising physician.
• Support department needs and may work beyond regular hours for coverage.
