Job summary

Advocate Health in High Point, NC seeks a Physician Assistant to join a collaborative medical team, delivering patient-centered care under physician supervision and contributing to diagnostic and treatment decisions.

The PA will order and interpret laboratory tests, explain procedures to patients, and perform procedures per guidelines while supporting research initiatives and potential learner precepting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's degree preferred.
• Current applicable state Medical License; NCCPA certification.
• Exceptional interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex patient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's degree preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

• Current applicable state Medical Board Medical License
• Certified by NCCPA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
2. Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines
5. Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects
6. Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners
