Job summary

Northwell-GoHealth Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient exams under supervision. You will manage patient check-in, vital signs, and specimen collection, including possible blood draws, while ensuring accuracy in documentation.

BLS certification is required at hire, with preference for phlebotomy and EKG experience. The role includes front desk duties, chart maintenance, and daily center operations, with responsibilities for opening/closing and ensuring smooth patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Assist in examination and prepare patients for tests.
• Maintain exam rooms and supply inventory.
• Perform point-of-care tests (flu, strep, UA, ECG, hCG).
• Document medical records and lab results.
• Answer calls and manage mail and appointments.
