Job summary

FastMed in Wilson, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers with exams, procedures and patient care. The role involves triaging patients, taking vitals, drawing blood, collecting specimens, and assisting with medications and immunizations under provider direction.

Qualifications include graduation from a Medical Assistant program or related field (or 6 months’ experience), and BLS certification. CNA with phlebotomy, EMT/Paramedic, or CMA/RMA credentials are also considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or other relevant program, OR 6 months of experience.
• Active RMA or CMA designation is acceptable; CNA with phlebotomy is listed.
• BLS through American Heart Association is required; other safety orgs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients, measuring vitals, and recording information on charts.
• Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and completion of lab work.
• Administering medications and immunizations under provider direction.
• Setting up procedures as instructed by provider.
• Preparing treatment rooms and bringing patients from the waiting room to exam rooms.
