Job summary

Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care in Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will perform front desk duties, assist with exams, and support registration and patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA program preferred, BLS, and ability to handle multiple tasks with care. We offer competitive benefits, paid time off, sign-on bonus, and incentive pay based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Front Desk experience preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Certifications CCMA CMA RMA NCMA NRCMA or CNA accepted.
• In lieu of MA cert, 1+ year MA hospital/urgent care exp accepted.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and inform on status.
• Prepare patients for examination and record history.
• Perform point-of-care testing as needed.
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and reception area.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Answer calls and manage daily correspondence.
• Open/close duties and cash handling.
• Follow QA/QC logs and maintain equipment.
