Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team. You will support patient care, assist with examinations, and ensure efficient clinic operations in a high-energy environment.

The role emphasizes patient preparation, triage, EMR documentation, lab specimen collection, and administration of medications and injections. Weekend/holiday availability and a team-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant program or CMA/RMA certification or minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in urgent care/ER.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and general clinical procedures.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EPIC preferred).
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Team player with a positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Perform triage and take vital signs.
• Document patient history in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect routine lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections (IM, Subcutaneous, Intradermal).
• Suture and staple removal and splinting when necessary.
• Perform basic clinical and laboratory procedures to support patient care.
• Assist Occupational Medicine services including drug screening and audiograms.
• Enforce HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks.
