Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking aMedical Assistant to join a fast-paced clinical team and provide hands-on patient care while ensuring smooth clinic operations.

You'll prepare patients, perform triage, document history in EMR, collect specimens, administer medications, and support occupational medicine services. This role offers a 3‑day/12‑hour shift schedule (8AM–8PM) with growth opportunities and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (diploma or certificate) or CMA/RMA certification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Medical Assistant in urgent care or ER/hospital setting.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and general clinical procedures.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring comfort and information accuracy.
• Perform triage and accurately take vital signs.
• Document detailed patient history in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect routine lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Perform basic clinical, aseptic, and laboratory procedures.
• Assist with Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, audiograms, pulmonary tests).
• Enforce HIPAA and OSHA compliance; maintain regulatory requirements.
• Handle administrative duties and operate office medical equipment.
• Support staffing needs by traveling to Beaumont Urgent Care locations as required.
