Job summary

Ascension in Pensacola, FL is looking for a Medical Assistant to support an Urgent Care team. You will greet patients, take vitals, document medical histories, and assist providers during exams and procedures.

You will also update patients on test results, answer health questions, prepare treatment rooms, and handle referrals and prior authorizations to keep the patient journey smooth. Full-time, rotating shifts ensure coverage across the clinic's hours.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the patient journey by greeting patients, taking vitals, collecting medical history, and proactively assisting providers during examinations and procedures.
• Provide clear, supportive follow-up by updating patients on test results and discussing health-related questions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain a safe and pristine environment by cleaning and preparing treatment rooms.
• Drive efficiency by managing critical administrative workflows, including charting, addressing patient questions, and processing referrals and prior authorizations.
