Job summary

Carbon Health in Boston, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant for our urgent care clinic in a fast-paced, paperless environment. You will take vitals, assist with procedures, triage patients and manage front desk duties, with opportunities to grow clinically and professionally.

We require a medical assistant certification, BLS, and a willingness to obtain DOT certification. Candidates with phlebotomy experience and 1+ year of MA work are preferred. Competitive benefits and a supportive team await.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification; willing to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages and run EKGs.
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, pregnancy tests, glucose, monospot, rapid strep and flu tests, rapid HIV tests.
• Manage front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training and become DOT certified to perform urine drug screens and breath alcohol tests.
