Legacy Health-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations in the Portland area. You will assist in examinations, check-in, and patient interviews, and record vital signs under the direction of a provider.

The role involves preparing treatment rooms, collecting specimens, and performing point of care testing as needed. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success in a busy clinic.

Formación

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• One MA certification is required (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA) or equivalent.
• RN/LPN or EMT accepted in lieu of MA certification.

Responsabilidades

• Register patients and verify insurance and paperwork.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists.
• Answer patient questions and update patient status.
• Prepare patients for examination and collect medical history.
• Take vital signs and escalate urgent cases.
• Perform point of care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG).
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and front desk.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to files.
• Answer calls and manage daily mail flow.
• Keep reception area well maintained and courteous.
• Perform opening/closing duties including cash handling.
• Document daily controls and QA logs for equipment.
