We are seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Urgent Care Medical Assistant to join our clinical team at Epic Pain Management's Babcock location in San Antonio. This position requires flexible availability, including weekends. Candidates must be able and willing to work Saturdays and/or Sundays based on the assigned schedule, patient volume, staffing needs, and operational requirements. The Urgent Care Medical Assistant is responsible for providing direct clinical and administrative support to physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other authorized healthcare professionals within Epic Pain Management's Urgent Care services. This position plays an essential role in maintaining efficient patient flow, preparing patients for evaluation, obtaining and documenting clinical information, assisting with diagnostic testing and procedures, maintaining examination rooms, and supporting providers throughout the patient encounter.

The Urgent Care Medical Assistant serves as a primary clinical point of contact after patient check-in. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting chief complaints and medical history, reviewing medications and allergies, preparing patients for provider evaluation, assisting with provider-ordered testing and treatments, and ensuring applicable clinical documentation is accurate and complete. The position may assist with point-of-care testing, specimen collection, injections, medication administration, wound care, splinting, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other Urgent Care services when appropriately trained, competent, authorized, and supported by applicable provider orders and Company procedures. The Urgent Care Medical Assistant is responsible for promptly communicating abnormal vital signs, significant patient-reported symptoms, changes in patient condition, or other clinical concerns to the appropriate licensed healthcare professional. The Medical Assistant does not independently diagnose medical conditions, interpret diagnostic results, prescribe medications, determine treatment plans, or provide medical advice.
