Job summary

Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group in Victorville, CA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for our Urgent Care team. The LVN provides direct patient care, completes intake, and supports Providers under California Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LVN nursing program.
• Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of LVN experience in a hospital or acute setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of California State law defining the Nurse Practice Act.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals within all levels of the organization, patients, families and providers.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete and accurate vital signs and assist patients to exam rooms.
• Document patient vital signs and interactions in the EMR/EHR.
• Perform procedures as ordered by the Provider within scope of practice.
• Assist with triage, document presenting complaints, assess acuity, and report to providers.
• Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and manage IV lines.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality, adhere to universal precautions.
• Supervise and mentor Medical Assistants and assist with staff training.
• Contribute to QA activities and nursing/lab QA as needed.
