Job summary

SGMC Health Urgent Care is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse in Georgia to deliver high-quality patient care across all ages. You will advocate for patients, support cost-efficient care, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations.

You will participate in staff development, follow SGMC Health policies, and contribute to regulatory data collection and QC/QI initiatives while maintaining an efficient workflow on a 12-hour day shift.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Practical Nurse license in Georgia.
• Solid nursing knowledge across patient care practices.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication abilities.
• Lab procedures knowledge is a plus; EKG knowledge preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Demonstrates adaptability and problem-solving in high-stress settings.

Responsibilities

• Promote quality patient care using nursing processes for all ages.
• Advocate for patients and assist with financial control and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate with clinical staff; participate in orientation and competency checks.
• Support development of other staff and adhere to SGMC Health Policies & Procedures.
• Promote SGMC Health mission and values across the team.
• Contribute to QC/QI & PIN programs related to Urgent Care and system-wide goals.
• Assist with data collection to meet regulatory standards.
• Cross-train in all care areas as needed and support timely patient care.
• Work with physicians, patients, and families to maintain a cooperative environment.
• Plan daily work, attend staff meetings, and participate in in-service education.
