MelroseWakefield Hospital is seeking a Nursing Support/CNA to provide professional and basic patient care under supervision in Medford, MA. The role requires CNA certification, BLS, and 1 year of health care experience, with on-site responsibilities in the 3pm-11pm shift.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations and ADLs, maintaining hygiene, preparing meals, and handling clerical tasks to ensure efficient patient flow within the department.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent
• Successful completion of courses in EKG and Phlebotomy (only for Critical Care and ED)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One (1) year experience in health care or nursing services

Mansioni

• Assists with examinations, procedures, tests, and treatments taught through formal training (glucometer, hoyer lift, vital signs, urinalysis, blood glucose, microalbumin, A1C)
• Assists patients with ADLs ensuring privacy and safety; prepares meals and helps with feeding
• Provides hygienic care, changes linens, beds, briefs, bedpans, urinals, catheters; administers cleansing enemas
• Applies skin integrity and alignment concepts; changes simple dressings
• Assists Ostomy patients with pouching and skin care
• Prepares and administers hot/cold applications (sitz bath, soaks, packs)
• Applies supportive appliances (slings, ace bandages, stockings, binders)
• Obtains and reconciles allergy and medication lists
• Collects and prepares specimens; documents and reconciles lab results in EMR
• Monitors supplies, sterilizes instruments, maintains equipment; arranges replacements/upgrades
• Provides clerical support (greeting, scheduling, phones, messages)
• Assists other physician practices as needed; performs other duties as assigned
• Performs patient care per nursing direction and discharge plan; reports changes to RN/LPN
• Transports patient; acts as Safety Sitter when needed
