Job summary

The Baton Rouge Clinic AMC is seeking a compassionate CMA or LPN to join our Urgent Care Clinic in Baton Rouge, LA. The clinician will deliver high-quality patient care for acute illnesses and injuries, under physician supervision.

Key duties include assisting physicians, taking histories and vital signs, preparing for exams, and performing point-of-care testing. Louisiana LPN or CMA certification is required or in process, with prior urgent care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of Board-Approved LPN program and NCLEX-PN.
• Active Louisiana LPN license.
• CMA certification (NRCMA, CCMA, CMA, RMA) is preferred.
• Experience in urgent care or similar setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with examinations and treatments.
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Perform routine clinical testing and point-of-care testing as directed.
• Administer medications and injections with physician authorization.
• Assist with wound care and urgent-care procedures.
• Perform EKGs and other diagnostic testing as assigned.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care.
• Provide patient education regarding medications and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Support daily urgent-care operations with clinical and clerical duties.
