AdventHealth Winter Haven in Florida is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You will assist with check-ins, document vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and support clinical procedures with accuracy and empathy.

This full-time role requires weekday availability and some weekend shifts. We offer benefits from day one, a 403(b) plan, PTO from day one, and strong opportunities for career development and whole-person care.

Qualifications

• General medical assistant knowledge required.
• English literacy and communication required.
• Ability to operate computer, copier, fax and scanner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high patient-volume environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive and own patient experience; document procedures per policy.
• Assess patients during clinical check-in and document vital signs.
• Administer treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments as ordered.
• Perform diagnostic tests (EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, pulse oximetry) and forensic testing per DOT/state guidelines.
• Complete check-out duties and relay instructions to patients/families.
• Follow QA checklists and safety guidelines; adhere to CDC infection prevention practices.
• Train new clinical staff as needed and provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
