Job summary

Mercy Urgent Care is seeking an experienced PRN Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our urgent care team in Asheville, NC. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires an accredited PA or FNP program graduate, active NC PA or FNP license, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with 1-2 years of urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active North Carolina PA or FNP license.
• Current BLS or ACLS and PALS certifications.
• 1-2 years post-graduate experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages and genders with acute illnesses and minor injuries.
• Perform common urgent care procedures (suturing, splinting, wound care, I&D) in a fast-paced setting, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Actively engage in patient care, including conducting health exams, obtaining accurate medical histories, and maintaining detailed progress notes.
• Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up, supporting continuity of care.
• Work closely with a collaborative care team to ensure high-quality care and smooth clinic operations.
