Job summary

Tampa General Hospital, in collaboration with Fast Track Urgent Care, is seeking a skilled APRN or PA to join the on-site urgent care team. The role involves comprehensive assessments, ordering tests, and managing acute and chronic conditions.

The ideal candidate has active APRN/PA licensure, BLS, and DOT/NRCME credentials, with 2+ years in emergency or urgent care. New grads with strong procedural skills may be considered. Expect weekend/evening shifts and on-site clinic coverage.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
• Current BLS certification.
• NRCME certification to perform DOT exams.
• Two years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
• Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care preferred.
• DEA license with no restrictions preferred.
• New graduates with significant procedural skills considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides episodic, evidence-based care per current guidelines, independently or with supervision.
• Performs age-appropriate histories and physical examinations.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
• Collaborates with physicians and management on patient cases.
• Prescribes and dispenses medications within protocols.
• Counsels patients and provides education.
• Performs minor procedures within protocol scope.
• Works onsite in a professional medical environment.
• Maintains knowledge of current medical research and trends.
