Job summary

Tampa General Hospital and Fast Track Urgent Care are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver evidence-based, episodic care in a fast-paced urgent care setting on-site in the Tampa Bay area.

The APP will perform histories and exams, order tests, prescribe medications, educate patients, and collaborate with supervising physicians. Schedule: roughly 36 hours/week, 13 shifts per month, including weekends. Credentialing and screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
• Current BLS certification.
• NRCME certification to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) exams.
• DEA license with no restrictions, preferred.
• Two years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, strongly preferred.
• Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting, strongly preferred.
• New graduates with significant procedural skills/experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidence-based, episodic care within current guidelines, independently and with other providers.
• Performs age-appropriate histories and physical examinations.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
• Plans and initiates appropriate treatment; adjusts as necessary.
• Prescribes and dispenses medications; counsels patients.
• Documents medical information and reviews histories at each visit.
• Collaborates with supervising physicians and medical directors.
• Maintains knowledge of current medical research and trends.
• Completes credentialing, trainings, and other duties as assigned.
