Job description

The City of Springfield is seeking anUrban Renewal Analystto support the City Manager’s Office. This position will perform activities in support of the City’s economic development projects related to the two Urban Renewal Districts in Springfield. A suitable candidate will have an interest in a variety of work related to making development projects come to fruition. This work spans from analyzing data, plans, and reports to gauge project feasibility, developing proposals and working with consultants, and supporting the development of materials for the Springfield Economic Development Agency. This role requires a strong skill set in project management, collaboration, and follow through. The position may entail skills and knowledge areas across economic development; real estate development, including local zoning and planning regulations; building and development economics and incentives; contracting; project management; gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data; and working within government systems and regulations. Training & Experience

The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration, political science, real estate, planning, or related field, and;
  • 2 years of experience in any of the following areas: urban renewal, project management (i.e. full scope to include budget, planning, execution, and monitoring), real estate (ex: negotiations, acquisitions, and disposition of properties), land use planning, economic development, or developing and facilitating proposals.
Preferences may be given for knowledge and experience
  • Prior public sector experience
  • Prior executive office or City Manager’s Office experience
  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • Oregon Real Estate Broker’s License
  • Land use planning
