Job summary

The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor seeks an Urban and Regional Planning Program Specialist to support the chair and program administration. This hybrid role combines on-campus presence four days a week with occasional offsite weeks and May–August offsite period.

You will manage calendars, travel, and meeting logistics; coordinate with faculty, committees, and college staff; prepare written communications and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in higher education
• 3+ years of progressively responsible administrative and project management experience
• Advanced technology skills including Google suite

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for the chair and program, serving as front-line information source.
• Assist with strategic initiatives and monitor project status.
• Organize program events, fellowship applications, and faculty committees.
• Manage the chair's calendar and travel arrangements.
• Attend meetings, prepare agendas/minutes, and track actions.
• Maintain record-keeping systems and prepare written communications.
• Coordinate with college staff to resolve problems and communicate URP activities.
