Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking an AAHC Real Estate Development and Planning Specialist to advance development and capital projects, including research, due diligence, and grant applications.

Responsibilities include property acquisition planning, zoning and brownfield work, preparing analyses and recommendations, and coordinating with city staff and consultants. A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Business, Real Estate, Public Administration or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of research experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning, zoning, business finance, and/or real estate.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of development and capital project work of the AAHC including research, due diligence and creation of documents related to development such as property acquisition, planning, zoning, brownfield and other grant applications; prepares written project analyses and makes written recommendations; reviews and understands relevant city, state and federal ordinances, codes, laws, programs, etc.; conducts site inspections of existing and planned facilities; assists the Director of Housing and Economic Development, Construction Project Manager and various AAHC consultants as required and performs related work as required.
