Job summary

City of Ann Arbor is seeking an AAHC Real Estate Development and Planning Specialist to manage development and capital projects, conducting research, due diligence, and preparing documents related to property acquisition, planning, zoning, brownfields, and grant applications.

You will review city, state, and federal ordinances and perform site inspections, supporting the Director of Housing and Economic Development and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate, Public Administration or closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of research experience and 2 years of planning, zoning, business finance and/or real estate experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs development and capital project work including research, due diligence and creation of documents related to development such as property acquisition, planning, zoning, brownfield and grant applications.
• Prepares written project analyses and makes written recommendations; reviews relevant ordinances, codes, laws and programs.
• Conducts site inspections and assists the Director of Housing and Economic Development, Project Manager and consultants as required.
