Job summary

The City of Montgomery Planning Department seeks a Planner II to perform advanced analysis of technical data and major projects in urban planning and development. You will work on studies, plan development, and strategies with some independence.

The role involves public interfacing, administrative duties, and operates within a multi-step pay progression system; starting salary is negotiable based on education, training and experience in alignment with policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, city planning, transportation engineering, geography, or related field.
• Two years of professional public planning experience involving urban planning, program development, strategic planning, research, analytical applications, or related experience.
• Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies and prepare plans and strategies for urban development.
• Interface with the public and stakeholders; present concepts and data.
• Perform various administrative tasks within the Planning Department.
