Job summary

Montgomery Personnel is seeking a Senior Planner to supervise a team and lead advanced planning initiatives in land use, development management, and urban renewal. The role involves preparing complex plans, conducting studies, and interfacing with the public to advance city development goals.

Applicants should have a Master’s in urban planning with several years of experience, and may fulfill qualifications with a mix of education and work. Certification by AICP is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in urban planning with 4 years senior planning experience.
• 2 years leading others in tasks or projects; substitution rules apply.
• Education/experience may substitute, but not the bachelor's coursework.

Responsibilities

• Supervising employees on planning projects and studies.
• Conduct complex land use, development, and environmental planning studies.
• Prepare comprehensive plans and redevelopment strategies.
• Interface with the public and manage administrative tasks.
• Provide technical determinations and make independent judgments on complex projects.
