The City of Hillsboro is seeking a collaborative Planner to join our Economic & Community Development Department to support development and zoning projects in Hillsboro, Oregon. The role involves reviewing proposals, preparing technical planning materials, and engaging with applicants, property owners, and the public.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a planning-related field and municipal planning experience, with strong research, communication, and community-engagement skills;

Qualifications

• Advanced ability to research and analyze planning information.
• Knowledge of Oregon land use planning structure.
• Experience engaging diverse community members and handling public inquiries.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administering the Development Code and reviewing proposals.
• Prepare technical planning materials, maps, graphics, and presentations.
• Respond to public inquiries about zoning, land development, and entitlements.
