Job summary

Uncommon Schools is seeking a Middle School Science teacher (Full-time) to join a team improving science literacy in urban communities. You will teach an interdisciplinary, NGSS-aligned science program and lead interactive labs that foster inquiry and critical thinking.

You will analyze student work with site leaders, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and build strong relationships with students and families to support achievement.

Qualifications

• A demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development.
• An enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students.
• A self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes and achieve objectives.
• Required Experience: 1-2 years experience in urban K-12 settings.

Responsibilities

• Instruction: teach NGSS-aligned curriculum with analytical labs and cross-cutting concepts.
• Data Analysis: review student work trends weekly with admin/coach and differentiate instruction.
• School Culture: build positive relationships with students and families and participate in weekly meetings.
