Job summary

The Urban ForUsTree Youth Programs Internship supports a six-month pilot in urban forestry, environmental education, youth leadership, and community engagement across the Houston area. Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Local to the Houston, Texas area for the duration of the position with reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of required background checks and youth-safety screenings.
• Interest in environmental education, urban forestry, conservation, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and co-facilitate hands-on workshops for high school students on urban forestry and environmental careers.
• Recruit and support a Youth Fellows cohort with a local school district.
• Plan field experiences, stewardship projects, and community tree giveaway events.
• Prepare learning materials, manage partner communications, and track participation and outcomes.
• Support event planning, logistics, and documentation for replication and expansion.
